Its Christmas all over

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – The crowd poured into the Commerce Downtown Square last night, as the city hosted its annual Christmas Parade and tree lighting ceremony. With temperatures just chilly enough to feel a little like Christmas, the men, women, and children watched as floats, antique cars, horse riders, motorcycles, and other entries went by in the parade.

Santa will continue to make the rounds, as other area cities are looking forward to their Christmas Parades. Downtown Greenville will be alive tonight with a theme of Christmas Around the World for this year's festivities. Leonard hosts their annual parade tomorrow starting at 5pm. A Sam Rayburn Christmas Celebration will be hosted in Bonham on December 9th, as activities are planned all day from 10am to 10pm. The Sam Rayburn Library and Museum celebrates their 50th anniversary early in the day, with events concluding with the tree lighting ceremony at 6pm and Christmas Parade to follow.

Wills Point and East Tawakoni have their parades scheduled for tomorrow. Rains County events are December 5th. Sherman kicks off a two-day Christmas celebration today. And Sulphur Springs will be celebrating their annual Christmas in the Park Festival tonight from 5:30 to 8pm in Heritage Park.
