PARIS - The husband of a murdered Paris woman has been arrested on an unrelated charge of alleged assault on his late wife in March.
Donna Barrett was found dead inside her home Saturday. On Monday, Paris Police arrested 42-year-old Byron Barrett on a bond surrender warrant. KXII-TV reports the warrant included charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon assault of a family member and impeding breathing.
Officer Curtis Garrett says authorities are investigation several leads in Donna’s death, but declined further comment as not to obstruct the investigation. Police Chief Bob Hundley had stated that it's obvious Donna Barrett's death is a homicide and his office is working to identify a suspect.
