A reduction in bond has been denied for a Dallas man, charged with murder in connection with the death late last month of a Hunt County resident.

Timothy Adam Kelley, 21, and Kyle Anthony Kauffmann, 18, of Terrell are being held in the Hunt County Jail involving the death of William Dow Schauer, 70.

Kelley is in custody in lieu of a total of $550,000 bond on one count each of murder and theft while Kauffmann is being held in lieu of $1 million bond on one count of murder.

Kelley had an attorney appointed last week to represent him on the charge. During a Tuesday morning hearing in the 354th District Court, Judge Richard A. Beacom denied a reduction in Kelley’s bond.

Beacom also denied a reduction in Kauffmann’s bond during a December 18 hearing.

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks has said he does not anticipate any more arrests in connection with Schauer’s death.

Kelley was taken into custody Monday night in Parker County, near Mineral Wells on a murder warrant, a theft warrant and a parole revocation warrant.

Kauffmann had been held in the Ellis County Jail on an apparently unrelated theft charge out of Terrell and was booked into the local jail December 10.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office received a call on the afternoon of Novem-ber 26 of an unattended death at a residence on County Road 2400 west of Quinlan, which carries a Terrell mailing address. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Schauer deceased inside his home.

Family members had found Schauer after not hearing from him for a couple of days. Schauer’s 2012 white Lincoln sedan, along with other items, were discovered missing. The vehicle was later found in a parking lot at an apartment complex in Terrell.
