By Scott Harvey

Sulphur Springs – Hopkins County Judge Cletis Millsap has been elected to the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO).

Millsap currently serves as an Executive Board of Director on the Ark-Tex Council of Governments.

The NADO Board of Directors oversees the association's budget and operations and develops policy on issues affecting regional development organizations.

Today, NADO member organizations serve the 82 million residents of small metropolitan and rural America through various programs focused on diversifying local economies, assisting businesses, creating jobs and providing social services.

The Board consists of members from across the nation. Millsap's term runs through October, 2011.

"We are honored to have Cletis Millsap serve on NADO's Board of Directors. He brings a wealth of expertise, knowledge and leadership on regional community and economic development issues to the national level," stated Matthew Chase, NADO Executive Director.

"Most importantly, he is focused on helping our nation's local communities pursue comprehensive regional strategies for remaining economically competitive in today's rapidly changing global environment."
