GREENVILLE - A tentative trial date has been set for a Micah Crofford Brown  of Greenville charged in the shooting death of his ex-wife.

Brown has pleaded not guilty to allegedly murdering Stella Michelle Ray, despite admitting to the crime, according to authorities. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

Ray, a teacher at Caddo Mills ISD, was shot and killed last summer in a believed custody dispute.

Trial for Brown will begin November 1. He remains jailed on $1.5 million bond.
