Wills Point – A Wills Point coach has been named the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Junior High Coach of the year for the State of Texas, according to the Wills Point Chronicle. D.D. Daniell is in his seventh year as a Wills Point ISD coach and teacher, and oversees the junior high basketball program while also assisting with track and football.
Head Basketball Coach Ed Glendening nominated Daniell for the award, saying Daniell teaches discipline, he wins, and most of all, teaches the Wills Point program. Daniell said the goal was to keep the kids interested and keep improving in all areas academically, socially, areas of discipline, and athletically. Daniell also said he was honored to receive the award.
