This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, Alice reviews Jurassic World, Heaven Knows What, and Love & Mercy.
Jurassic World is the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series, but it mainly follows the story line of the original Jurassic Park. It stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and some amazing CG dinosaurs. Alice really enjoyed this movie and called it "awe-inspiring."
Heaven Knows What is an independent film by two brothers from New York City. It follows a young homeless girl in a story based on her own life. Alice thought the cast was wonderful, the score was jarring and strange, and the story was so terribly true it became art.
Love & Mercy is a movie based on the life of the legendary Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. Paul Dano and John Cusack star as Brian Wilson in the 60's and 80's, in that order. Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamotti also star as factors that completely change Wilson's life. Alice enjoyed the re-creations of some of the classic Beach Boys songs.
