Juvenile may be tried as an adult in Greenville murder case

Greenville – A 16 year old charged with murder in the shooting death of Joseph Willis of Greenville may be tried as an adult. County Attorney Joel Littlefield said his office is considering trying the teen as an adult in the June incident. The juvenile is currently being held in the Hunt County Juvenile Detention Center.

The suspect was apprehended on July 1st in connection with the shooting death of Willis in the 2900 block of Texas Street in Greenville. Willis was found inside a Jeep and had been shot once in the head. Investigators say the shot appeared to have been fired from another vehicle, and the vehicle was later identified. The juvenile was arrested after investigators were able to speak with at least some of the people riding inside the vehicle. Additional suspects are being sought in the case.
