Kansas triple homicde has ties to Greenville

Greenville – A former Greenville resident has been charged with capitol murder in connection to a triple homicide in Kansas.

46-year-old James Kraig Kahler, of Columbia, MO has been charged with the capital murder of his estranged wife and their two daughters. The crimes occurred in Burlingame, Kansas, at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

During a hearing Monday, bond was set at $10 million, cash only. A preliminary hearing is set for December 10.

The Kahler family lived in Greenville about a decade ago, where he once worked as a senior engineer for the local electric utility system, while his wife used to be employed at an athletic center.
