commerce – Carlos Pena and Evan Longoria hit back-to-back homers in the first inning sparking Tampa Bay to a 13-4 win over Boston and a commanding 3-1 lead in the American League Championship Series.

The Philadelphia Phillies can advance to the World Series for the first time since 1993 with a win over the Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLCS tonight.

And the hits just keep on coming for the Dallas Cowboys. Adam Pacman Jones has been suspended for at least four games for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Jones got in a fight with his bodyguard in Dallas on the 7th, and the suspension could be longer, or permanent, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The boys are now without two cornerbacks, after losing Terrence Newman to a sports hernia. Add to the injury list quarterback Tony Romo, running back Felix Jones, punter Mat McBriar, and receiver Sam Hurd. The Cowboys hope to have safeties Roy Williams and Pat Watkins back for this week's game.

Speaking of a different Roy Williams, the Cowboys signed the wide receiver Roy Williams yesterday in a trade with the Detroit Lions involving three draft picks. Terrell Owens is happy to have the star receiver on board.

The deal for Williams includes a first-round pick in 2009.

The A&M-Commerce Lions play at the newly-renovated Cotton Bowl this week, but will all the hoopla distract the team? Head coach Scotty Conley says the team will be ready.

North Texas Olympic gold-medal gymnast Nastia Liukin has won another award. The 18-year-old pride of Parker, Texas, has won the Women's Sports Foundation's Individual Sportswoman of the Year. The teen Dallas suburbanite also got a guest shot on the popular high school TV drama "Gossip Girl."
