COMMERCE - Commerce ISD was among a handful of area schools reclassified to either a higher or lower class as part of Thursday’s biennial announcement by the University Interscholastic League. Hear from the Voice of the Commerce Tigers John Mark Dempsey.

Commerce will now move to 2A, as will some familiar opponents in Van Alstyne, Caddo Mills and Farmersville.

Elsewhere throughout the region, moving from 4A to 5A was McKinney, Rockwall, and Rockwall Heath, while Greenville and Sulphur Springs remained in Class 4A.

Above, Dr. John Mark Dempsey breaks down the new realignment for the region. Dr. Dempsey is the head of the department of Mass Media, Communications and Theatre at Texas A&M University-Commerce and voice of the Commerce Tigers on KETR.
