Klondike lady injured by bull

Tiera Strode
Cooper Review

On Sunday, Nov. 30 Hopkins County EMS, Delta County Sheriff’s officers and first responders were called to a ranch at FM 2068 in Klondike. Tiera Strode of B&T Cattle Company was injured by a young bull as she was working bucking stock at their arena.

According to witnesses, the bull pushed a panel down on top of Strode, and she was stepped on multiple times. At approximately 6 p.m. she was careflighted to Plano Hospital.

“She hasn’t had any surgeries so far but a tube was put in her lung when it collapsed,” said family friend Lacey Winn, who was next door at the time of the incident. “She will have a long recovery and pain to endure. I hate her family seems to have such bad luck.” Strode had been off from her work at the Dollar General in Cooper recovering from foot surgery.

Friends and family have been rallying around her as they have started an online fund to help with medical expenses. Winn has been posting updates on Strode’s recovery progress to the online fund site. At press time she was sitting up in bed.
