KXII reports Ladonia official indicted on federal charges

A Ladonia city council member and former Fannin County Sheriff’s deputy has been indicted on five federal charges according to a report by KXII-TV.

The indictments allege that William Clifford “Cliff” Isaacs Jr. sexually assaulted four women while serving as a Fannin County Sheriff’s deputy, according to the report. The charges include four counts of deprivation of rights under color of law and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, the report said.

KXII quoted federal prosecuting attorney Maureen Smith as saying that Isaacs could face sexual assault charges from the State of Texas, but that the allegations of rights violations are a federal matter.

The indictments allege that Isaacs assaulted four different female inmates between October 2012 and September 2013, the report said.

KXII also interviewed Fannin County Sheriff Donnie Foster about Isaacs’ employment. Isaacs had access to female inmates while acting as a transport deputy, the report said. Isaacs was relieved of duties when Fannin County officials became aware of a Texas Rangers investigation of Isaacs, according to the report.

Isaacs’ pre-trial hearing is set for April, the report said.
