Ladonia Rodeo & Frontier Days to begin Thursday

Ladonia – The City of Ladonia kicks off its 44th annual Rodeo and Frontier Days Celebration today, with events running through Saturday.

Beginning Thursday at 8:30 p.m. it's the first night of the Ladonia Rodeo, to be held at Eastman Arena, featuring eight traditional rodeo events. On Friday night the featured event is Mini Bull Riding for riders ages 14 and under and weighing 115 pounds or less.

Other features to be held nightly are a boot find, a calf scramble and performances by professional rodeo clown Ron "Iceman" Hunter.

On Saturday it's the Frontier Days Celebration. Activities include the men's and women's hay toss competition, a horse show toss, shoe kicking, bubble gum blowing, watermelon seed spitting, a "knockout" free throw contest, and more.
