Lake Ralph Hall plan clears hurdle

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will be the next agency to review the plan for Lake Ralph Hall, which supporters say would be an environmental boon as well as a needed water source.

The Upper Trinity Regional Water District wants to put the lake just north of Ladonia, along the North Sulphur River watershed, to meet future water needs. The City of Flower Mound has expressed opposition, citing costs. Meanwhile, a man-made erosion problem along the North Sulphur has been a worsening problem for decades.
