Large indentity theft investigation expands

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A Rains County woman faces additional charges related to already one of the biggest identity theft investigations locally.

26-year-old Stephanie Marie Bain, of Point, was indicted by the Hunt County Grand Jury Friday on three counts of engaging in organized activity and one count of fraudulent use of identifying information.

An interim hearing is scheduled for May 25, the same day Bain is to appear on seven previous indictments.

One of those charges of organized crime alleges she acted alongside eight other individuals to break into automobiles and commit theft on more than a dozen occasions between September and December, 2009.
