Latest phase of Walking Mall project to begin

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – Texas A&M University-Commerce is scheduled to begin the next phase of its Walking Mall project Friday.

According to Executive Director of Facilities David McKenna, crews will extend the existing Walking Mall infrastructure south to the Sam Rayburn Student Center and in front of the Science Building.

Highlights include converting portions of Stonewall St. just north of the Student Center and portions of W. Neal Street just west of the Student Center into Walking Mall area. The project is expected to take roughly 90 days to complete.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised there will be closures and rerouting of traffic patterns as the process continues.
