Law enforcement apprehends driver in high speed chase

This Prius crashed into a home in Greenville as the result of a multi-county high speed pursuit Wednesday evening.

Local Hunt, Hopkins and Delta County and other law enforcement went into action Wednesday evening at approximately 6 p.m. in pursuit of a vehicle moving at a high velocity. It was reportedly the driver of a Toyota Prius.

Pursuit began in Sulphur Springs with a traffic stop on I-30. It continued when driver evaded the deputy traveling down State Highway 19, turning west onto Farm-to-Market 71 past North Hopkins ISD eventually to State Highway 11 to FM 224 through Commerce and ending abruptly on Stonewall and Hillcrest streets in the center of Greenville at approximately 7 p.m. when the vehicle crashed into a residence, rupturing a gas line in the process.

According to the Herald Banner, the suspect is in custody and is being attended to by medical personnel.
