Library honored for second straight year

Greenville – For the second consecutive year, Greenville's W. Walworth Harrison Library has received the 2009 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award.

The honor comes from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association. Of the more than 500 public libraries in Texas, only 27 received this award.

The W. Walworth Harrison Public Library demonstrated excellence in all areas required to qualify which include but are not limited to a comprehensive summer reading program, service to underserved populations, cultural programming and literacy support.
