Lions Advance in Lone Star Conference Tournament

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – And the Lions win. That was the sound last night as the A&M-Commerce men's team came back from a 9 point deficit at the half and took the victory over Southeastern Oklahoma 59 to 42. The Lions went on a 13 point run to start the second half, and outscored the Savages 23 to nothing in the first 9 minutes, with Matthew Rager of Quinlan/Boles leading the team with 16 points and some key shots from 3 point range.
A&M-Commerce will host the Lone Star Conference semifinals and championship games, with the Lions facing Tarleton State this Friday at 8. The championship game is set for Saturday at 7:30.
The Lady Lions came up short in the first round game, losing 78 to 56 to Northeastern State.
