Lions basketball headed to the playoffs

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – The A&M-Commerce Lions basketball teams finished up the regular season Saturday with victories over Southwestern Oklahoma. The men posted a 102-93 win, bringing their overall record to 14-13 and 7-5 in the Lone Star Conference North.

The women dominated with an 82-41 win, giving them a 22-8 record and 10-2 in the LSC North. Kanani Marshall set an A&M-Commerce and Lone Star Conference record in the game, too, posting 11 three-pointers.
Now, its time for the playoffs.

The men enter the Lone Star Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed out of the North. They will be on the road to face West Texas A&M.

The women are the No. 1 seed, and if they keep winning, they keep hosting. They'll be hosting Tarleton.

Both teams will be playing Tuesday. The women's game starts at 7pm in the A&M-Commerce Field House, and the men's game starts at 8pm on the campus of West Texas A&M.
