Lion's basketball into the playoffs

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – Well it's a post-season trip for both the men's and women's basketball teams at A&M-Commerce.

The men lost 80-70 to Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday, a game they needed to win in order to guarantee a playoff berth. But a loss by East Central means the Lions will take the fourth seed in the LSC tournament. They hit the road to face Tarleton Tuesday.

The women will also be in action Tuesday, but they will be hosting the first round of the LSC Tournament as the #2 seed out of the LSC North. The women lost a close one in overtime Saturday, falling 71-70 in overtime to #1 seed Southwestern. It will be the first time in school history the women will be hosting a conference playoff game. The ladies also set milestones for overall wins in the regular season with 16 and the first ever undefeated home record for the team.
