A&M-Commerce picked up its 11 win in the last 12 games and fourth straight after a career-high 14 points from forward Everrett Pleasant in the Lions 78-49 rout of McMurry Saturday night in the Field House in nonconference action.

Pleasant became fourth Lion to lead the team in points and picked his third double-digit game of season after going 5-of-8 from the floor and 4-of-6 from the free throw line.  Christian Macauley followed with nine points after going 4-of-5 from the floor.  All four of Macauley’s basket came on dunks, including two athletic alley-oops after lobs from teammates.  Three other Lions tallied nine points.  Anthony Adams and De’Andre Carson led the Lions with five assists.  On 31 made baskets the Lions had 22 assists – their highest number of assists on the season.

The Lions, for the second straight game, led the entire way and cruised to the win.  A&M-Commerce ended the contest 50 percent from the floor, 35 percent from three and 50 percent from the free throw line.  McMurry was limited to 35 percent overall and from long range.

The Lions continued their trend of out shooting their opponents from the free throw line after going 6-of-12 from the charity stripe, while the War Hawks made four of their six attempts.

Aaron Gettys led McMurry with 16 points after knocking down four of his seven 3-point attempts.  Connor Robinson picked up a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lions, who improved to 13-3 on the season, finish their current three-game homestand with Eastern New Mexico Wednesday, January 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Field House.
