Lions, Hounds to put on the dog at The Field House

The Lions hope to stay close to the top of the Lone Star Conference standings with a victory over Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 22.

The A&M-Commerce men’s basketball team carries its four-game winning streak into Wednesday night’s Lone Star Conference meeting against Eastern New Mexico in the Field House at 7:30 p.m. The Lions have not trailed in a game since the Kingsville game, a streak of over 100 minutes.

- The Lions are coming off of a 78-49 win over McMurry... Everrett Pleasant became the fourth Lion to lead the team in scoring with 14 points.

-  Darrell Williams saw his four-game 20 points scoring streak snapped in the game ... His four-game double-double streak also game to a close ... He leads the LSC with 11 doubles.

- Darrell Williams has grabbed 15 plus rebounds in six games this season and 20 plus rebounds twice during the year ... He is one of only two NCAA DII players with two 20-rebound games.

Williams is ranked second in the NCAA in double-doubles with 11 ... Williams is also third in the NCAA in total rebounds, fourth in rebounds per game, seventh in defensive rebounds per game  and eighth in offensive rebounds per game ... LaDon Carnegie is second in the LSC in scoring at 17.4 ppgs.

- The Lions are coached by Sam Walker ... Walker is in his 15th season with A&M-Commerce and is the school’s all-time winningest coach with an overall of 238-175 ... He has complied a 96-89 record in LSC games.

A&M-Commerce vs. Eastern New Mexico:  The Series

- The Lions and Greyhounds have met 59 times prior to Wednesday’s game ... A&M-Commerce holds a 40-19 in the all-time series and a 37-17 advantage in LSC meetings.

- A&M-Commerce has won 13 of the last 15 meetings including the last two games ... The Lions won two of the three meetings in the 2013-14 season including a 74-73 win in the first round of the LSC Tournament.

- Under head coach Sam Walker, the Lions are 17-6.

About the Greyhounds
