A&M-Commerce Lions & Sidearm Sports

A&M-Commerce Lion Athletics has teamed up with Sidearm Sports to launch a newly redesigned LionAthletics.com, which debuted Thursday, Oct. 31.

"As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that our fans and supporters receive the most recent and up to date information on the Lions, and increase our fan experience, we have partnered with Sidearm Sports, one of the leading website providers for college athletics," said A&M-Commerce Athletic Director Ryan Ivey. "This new site will help us develop our look and brand as Lions and will be a key source for the A&M-Commerce Athletic Department as we move forward to big things in the future."

The new site offers a handful of upgraded features for Lion fans, including enhanced player and coaches bios, team schedules, a new look for team statistics and upgraded live stats and video components. As the site moves forward, it will continue to offer Lion fans a more interactive experience with their favorite Lion programs, offering upgraded photo galleries, social media platforms and the ability to purchase tickets and Lion apparel online.

Founded in 1996, Sidearm Sports has quickly become one of the top website providers for athletic programs across the country. Working with schools across all levels of NCAA Athletics, as well as NAIA, NJCAA and NCCAA programs, Sidearm has developed and maintain websites for nearly 700 schools, including all nine Lone Star Conference institutions.

The launch coincides with a busy Homecoming week for A&M-Commerce as the Lions get set for five key games over the next four days, all of which have possible Lone Star Conference and NCAA implications. Volleyball kicks off the weekend tonight, facing Midwestern State at 7 p.m. at the Field House.

Soccer then takes to the turf at Lion Soccer Field on Friday, Nov. 1, facing reigning LSC champion West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. The Lions have a full schedule on Homecoming Saturday, beginning with football taking on Angelo State at 2 p.m. at Memorial Stadium, followed by volleyball's showdown with Cameron at 7 p.m. that evening at the Field House. The weekend then closes out with soccer's regular season finale as the Lions battle Eastern New Mexico on Sunday, kicking off at noon.

With a switch from one website provider to another, kinks and snags are bound to rise up. Lion Athletics asks that fans be patient as they work through the issues as they will get the site running up to speed as fast as possible.
