The No. 8 Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions play at first-year program University of Texas of the Permian Basin Saturday night at the historic Ratliff Stadium. It’s the stadium that was used during filming of the football action in the movie Friday Night Lights about Odessa's storied high school football team, the Permian Panthers.
Expect Lions running back Richard Cooper to have a breakout game. He’s only 194 yards away from being the third all-time in school history in rushing yards. He is now the Lone Star Conference leader in rushing average - both per game and per carry.
