A&M-Commerce could not repeat their performance from Saturday versus Tarleton State in the Quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament, losing 84-55. The TexAnns used a 16-2 scoring run in the opening five minutes of the game.

The Lions never tied or trailed, which was the exact opposite of what happened in Commerce just four days ago.

Breanna Harris was the only Lion in double figures with 14 points in her last game for A&M-Commerce. Harris added 10 rebounds for her 37th career double-double. Abigail Leaupepe-Tele had eight points in 11 minutes before fouling out. Aubree Butts had nine and Alize Pegue had seven.

The Lions could never recover after the run by the TexAnns. A&M-Commerce tried to get back into the game but could not due to 13 first half turnovers.

The Texans stretched the lead to 26 at 36-10 with six minutes to play in the half. A jumper by Shanekqua Bibbs made the halftime deficit 29, 50-21, which is the largest of the season for the Lions.

The Lions tried to make a run at the start of the second half but could not make a dent on the Tarleton lead. The Lions held the Texans to just four points in the first four minutes of the half but the Lions could only get six of their own and were still 23 with just over 14 minutes to play.

The Lions got within 22 at 65-43 after a Butts jumper with 9:18 to play in the game.
