Commerce – The Commerce Schools Educational Enrichment Foundation this year presented grants totaling more than $23,000 to CISD teachers.
The foundation was recognized as part of Monday's regular board meeting.
Seven grants were given in the areas of art, math, science and teaching.
With the work of Founder Dr. Jack Pirkey, in conjunction with a committed group of CISD alumni, the Commerce Schools Educational Enrichment Foundation has presented nearly $200,000 to teachers for specific projects to enhance student learning.
