Local man among several still recovering from shooting

By Scott Harvey

– Fort Hood officials say that 15 of 29 people wounded in last week's shooting rampage remained hospitalized, three in intensive care.

A statement issued Tuesday said 12 others have been moved to recovery rooms. As of Monday, one of the injured soldiers, Staff Sgt. Patrick Zeigler Jr., of Lone Oak, was in stable condition at a Temple hospital.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is accused of shooting at a Fort Hood soldier processing center with more than 100 bullets last Thursday before a civilian police officer shot him in the torso. He is recovering, under guard, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
