Commerce – 45-year-old Gregory Dan Steward, of Commerce, remained in the Hunt County Jail this morning after being arrested on charges of theft and assault.
Steward was the subject of three different investigations stemming from incidents in late September.
He's alleged to have stolen lawn mowers and a bench from victim's yards. Commerce Police was able to recover the stolen items and identify Steward as the suspect.
He is also alleged to have assaulted a family member, causing bodily injury to the victim last month.
Steward was arrested without incident at an apartment in the 400 block of Lilly Street. His total bond has been set at $8,500.
