Local sheriff among police chief applicants

RENO - Six applications are being reviewed for the Reno Police Chief vacancy following the recent resignation of Joey McCarthy.

Among the applicants is Red River County Sheriff Robert Bridges. Bridges tells the Paris News that he is still actively seeking re-election for sheriff.

Also seeking the police chief’s position is Interim Chief Jeff Sugg and Matt Birch, crime information office with the Paris Police Department.

The Reno City Council is currently in the process of interviewing all candidates.  The plan is to narrow the field down to four before conducting another round of interviews.
