Ivanhoe – Officials have recently shut down the Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department citing a lack of funding and equipment.
Fannin County Commissioners officially recognized the closing Monday.
A community meeting has been scheduled for March 13 to determine if the department will be reopened. For now, emergency services for Ivanhoe citizens will come from fire protection from Ravenna, Bonham and Telephone firefighters.
