Major bust made in string of area burglaries

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – Five individuals have been arrested in connection to a major string of residential burglaries in Hunt and surrounding counties.

An extensive investigation by Hunt County Investigator Kenneth Peters led to the arrests over the weekend in the areas of Dove Drive and CR 3621.

The scope of the investigation was not immediately clear, as officials were sorting through recovered property ranging from weapons and welders to motorcycles and musical instruments.

Included in the recovered property were several stolen firearms as well as a sawed off shotgun.

Some of the burglaries are believed to have reached into VanZandt, Wood, Kaufman and Collin Counties.

According to Hunt County Undersheriff Joe Knight, the arrests certainly do not mean that every burglary has been solved, but do mean a substantial victory in the ongoing struggle.

Arrested and charged were Timothy Mark Box, Joseph John Grubbs, Howard-Osbe Shane Wallace, Tina Mcgee Piynter and Erin Kathryn Carter. Three of the five subjects are believed to be convicted felons.

Additional charges are pending on all subjects. The investigation is ongoing.
