Major corporation to close Northeast Texas plant

By Scott Harvey

Paris – Employees of the Sara Lee plant in Paris learned Wednesday that the global consumer-goods company will close in approximately two and a half months.

The Paris News reports the closure impacts nearly 150 employees at the facility, which earlier this year downsized operations by 260 positions.

There were indications as early as last year that Sara Lee would eventually move out of the Paris market after the company announced plans to shut down all but one production line.
