Major road project scheduled to break ground

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The $3.3 million project to rebuild Traders Road in Greenville is formally set to begin this week.

More than 5,000 vehicles use the thoroughfare each day, as the roadway connects the even busier Jack Finney Boulevard and Wesley Street/State Highway 34.

The Greenville City Council intends to reduce street speeds during the construction phase.

Improvements include a four-lane, 48 foot wide concrete roadway with curb and gutter and underground storm sewer/drainage. The project will take about a year to complete.
