Man hunted for killing ex-wife found dead

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – A Hunt County man that was the subject of a two state manhunt was found dead early yesterday morning in Oklahoma. 56 year old Michael Prock committed suicide after a standoff east of Tulsa. He was wanted in connection with the death of his ex-wife, Delores Prock. She was found shot to death at a residence south of Greenville Wednesday.

Police had been tracking Prock by his cell phone, and were able to contact him. According to the Hunt County Sheriff's criminal investigations unit, Prock told officer that if he ran out of gas he would end it and if he was stopped, he intended to force officers to kill him.

He was spotted at 1:20am in Oklahoma. Oklahoma officers engaged in a slow-speed chase and Prock eventually cut across oncoming traffic and into a field. As officers awaited a SWAT team, they attempted to contact Prock with no success. The ZSWAT unit eventually arrived and approached Prock's truck and found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Delores Prock had filed for divorce from Michael Prock twice previously in 1998 and 2004, and both filings were dismissed. She filed again in April and a divorce was granted on July 11th. Prock told investigators Delores Prock had found someone else, and he was upset by it.
