Man OK after major shock

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – A construction worker in Commerce suffered no major injuries after getting a shock from an electric line carrying more than 7,200 volts last week. Two workers were moving a 41-foot extension ladder when one slipped and fell in the mud. The other worker then lost control of the ladder. The ladder struck overhead electrical lines, sending current down through the worker's body and into the wet ground.

The man was taken by helicopter to Dallas, but suffered no major injuries and is eager to get back to work after a few more days of observation.
