Hopkins County – A man is in Hopkins County jail on drug charges after leading state troopers on a chase through four counties early Monday morning. Former Pittsburg resident, 27 year old Daymeon Delmond Johnson began running when police tried to pull him over along Highway 11 east of Pickton just after midnight Monday morning. He led troopers through Wood, Franklin, and Camp counties before he jumped out of his vehicle and attempted to make his escape on foot.
State Trooper Bryan Worley apprehended the man after a chase. Johnson was found with a brown paper bag holding six pounds of marijuana. He is in Hopkins County Jail facing drug charges and charges of felony evading arrest.
