Man setenced in child pornography case

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A Hunt County man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography.

Steve Kelby Samples, of Greenville, was sentenced Thursday to 20 years in prison for his convictions on charges of transporting, shipping and possessing child pornography. The charges against Samples stem from an undercover FBI agent downloading child pornography images from Samples' computer using Limewire file-sharing software in September, 2006. At least five of the images involved "real," as opposed to virtual children.

Samples pleaded guilty to the possession charge in August 2008 and was convicted at trial the following month on the transportation and shipping charge.
