Man stabbed after failed robbery

Hopkins County – A Hopkins County man remains in intensive care after being stabbed during a robbery attempt Saturday. The 54 year old man had left his house just after midnight Saturday after an argument with his wife. As he was walking, a car pulled up behind him. The man said a Hispanic male got out of the car and demanded his wallet. When the man refused, he was stabbed once in the lower abdomen and the car pulled off.

He returned home, but initially refused to have his wife call for medical help. Around 9am, it was apparent the wound was severe, and his wife called an ambulance.

Police are investigating.
