Commerce – All high school juniors, seniors and transfer students are invited to Texas A&M University-Commerce on Saturday, Oct. 16 for Mane Event Preview Day. Students will get the opportunity to survey the campus and get their questions answered about the university.
"We believe this will be the best Mane Event in our history," said Dr. Mary Hendrix, A&M-Commerce vice president of student access and success. "Word is out about our enrollment increase and that Texas A&M University-Commerce has become a first-choice university."
Mane Event is a chance for students to preview the campus and speak with representatives from A&M-Commerce about admissions, residence life, financial aid, scholarships, student organizations, and available majors. Event check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Sam Rayburn Student Center. Each student and their family and guests will have an opportunity to take a tour of the campus and residence halls, participate in interactive sessions about degree programs, and have the chance to win scholarships and other prizes. The day will conclude at 2:30 p.m. following the scholarship drawing.
Immediately after all activities, students are invited to attend the A&M-Commerce tailgate party and football game at 3:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. A&M-Commerce Mane Event Preview Day is free of charge. To register, visit http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/admissions/explore/maneEvent/. "Potential students should attend this fall's Mane Event to learn why students are so pleased with our university and to also take advantage of the many scholarship opportunities available to them," Hendrix said. "Because of our increase in enrollment, we are asking students to apply to the university early so that they will be able to benefit from the many financial resources we have available."
