Greenville – A manhunt may still be underway for a man wanted for assaulting Hunt County Justice of the Peace Kenneth Peters. A pursuit began yesterday when police had a suspect stopped in a car who had a warrant for aggravated assault on a peace officer. The suspect fled in the vehicle.
The chase went south from Greenville on Highway 34 until the suspect turned west on Farm Road 1564. The chase eventually ended near Farm Road 1565, where the suspect exited the vehicle and fled. Hunt County, Greenville Police, and the United States Marshal's Fugitive Task Force then began a manhunt.
The suspect had not been taken into custody as of last night.
