Manpleads guilty to injuring police officer

Greenville – A Greenville man has been put on probation after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in an accident that injured a Greenville Police officer. 53 year old Rutilio Moreno reportedly had almost three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood when his truck collided with a Greenville patrol car from behind. Moreno then reportedly left the scene, and traveled 11 blocks before being pulled over by another officer. He was charged with aggravated assault against a peace officer and failure to stop and render aid.

In a plea agreement, Moreno was given 8 years of deferred adjudication probation and fined $1,000.
