Commerce – March madness begins tonight for the A&M-Commerce women's basketball team. The team enters the NCAA Division 2 tournament as the No. 4 seed in the South Central Region. They face Emporia State on the campus of Missouri Western tonight at 6pm.
The women are in the midst of their best season in school history. Senior Kanani Marshall was named Player of the Year for the LSC North and named to the All-South Central Regional First Team earlier this week. Both Marshall and Sophomore Britney Jordan were named to the LSC First Team, and Jordan was named to the regional second team. Jordan was also named Newcomer of the Year for the LSC North.
The pair lead the team into the regional tournament tonight. If they win, they keep playing Saturday. Win Saturday, and the ragionla championship is Sunday.
