Marching band competition comes to Commerce

Just over 1,200 high school band students will arrive in Commerce on Monday afternoon Oct. 3rd at Memorial Stadium on the university campus.

The Commerce High School Band and Booster Club is sponsoring the NETEX Marching Invitational, which is a marching band competition for 1A, 2A and 3A schools.  The Commerce Tiger Band will kick off the event at 2:15 p.m. performing for ratings only then the competition will begin at 3:00 pm.

“Best in Class” awards will be awarded as well as trophies for bands that receive  Division I ratings.  There are 19 bands performing throughout the evening as well as the Texas A&M University-Commerce “Pride” Marching Band who will do an exhibition performance at approximately 8:15 pm.  Awards will be announced just after their performance.  Admission is $5.00 per person and wrist bands will be given so that you may leave as necessary and return later without paying another entry fee.  For more information, please check out the website at www.NETEXMarching.com or email info@netexmarching.com.
