Mayor Calls Off Special Council Meeting

There will not be a Greenville City Council meeting today after all.

Today’s special Greenville City Council meeting, at which time the Council was intending to accept the resignation of City Attorney Brent A. Money, has been canceled.

Mayor Steve Reid called off the meeting-which had been set for 12:30 p.m. today-late Thursday afternoon, indicating the Council needed additional time before making a decision.

Reid said the item will now be included under the agenda for the Council’s first regular session next year, on January 8, 2013.

The Council was also scheduled today to name Daniel W. Ray as City Attorney.
