Mayor scheduled to present ‘State Of The City’ address

Mayor Reid will address the Chamber of Commerce tomorrow morning at 11:30.
City of Greenville

Greenville Mayor Steve Reid is scheduled to present the “State Of The City” address during the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Membership Luncheon, set for 11:30 a.m. Friday inside the renovated Texan Theater in downtown Greenville.

Within the past year, Greenville has seen the start of renovations at Crossroads Mall, the beginning of construction on the Splash Kingdom water park, construction starting on the Walmart Neighborhood Market, the start of the expansion at Total Equipment and Service and the start of operations at International Grains and Cereal.

Sales tax rebate revenue for the City of Greenville rose significantly in December, when compared to the figures from December 2013.

Collections for the fiscal year to date are also well ahead of the totals from one year ago. Hunt County’s unemployment rate was at its lowest level for December in seven years.

Multiple restaurants have recently opened or are nearing completion, the city’s second Family Dollar store is under construction, and developers have an as yet unannounced retail project planned for a tract of land at the southeast corner of Sockwell Boulevard and Wright Street.

Cost for the “State Of The City” luncheon is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members.

Reservations and additional information are available at www.greenville-chamber.org or by phone at 903-455-1510.
