McFarland Named Acting President at A&M-Texarkana

Texas A&M University-Commerce

According to Steven Moore of the Texas A&M University System, the post of president and CEO at Texas A&M University-Texarkana has been resigned by Dr. C.B. Rathburn, III.

Dr. Rathburn will remain in Texarkana and tend to personal matters.

This is not the first time A&M-Commerce President Emeritus Dr. Keith McFarland has been called upon after his own presidency ended. He recently served as interim provost at Texas Women's University.

McFarland retired from A&M-Commerce in 2008 after spending 10 years as president and CEO. Overall, he spent 38 years in various roles at the university as a history professor, department head, and dean of the graduate school.
