Meeting Monday on Miles of Sidewalks

City of Greenville

The City of Greenville is hosting a Public Involvement Meeting to discuss the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) project. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center

The City of Greenville received a $1.87 million grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for the Safe Routes to School Infrastructure Grant, with the grant funding going to pay for the work at Bowie, Carver, Crockett and Lamar elementary schools.

The project is expected to provide approximately 80,000 linear feet , or a little more than 15 miles  of new sidewalks, repairs to existing sidewalks, curb cuts for ramps, the construction of curbs and gutters, crossings, traffic control devices and drainage.

City officials are encouraging anyone living near the campuses, or who may have students attending the schools, to participate in Monday's meeting.
