Meetings planned to further develop Wesley St.

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Big plans by the North Central Texas Council of Governments are in the works for what to do with Greenville's biggest business corridor.

The agency would like to make the retail corridor along Wesley Street more pedestrian friendly and accessible to bicycle traffic. The efforts are the result of months of meetings to help bring more business to the area and also create a safer route between Interstate 30 and Joe Ramsey Boulevard.

Suggestions have included wider sidewalks, bike lanes, landscaping and sidewalks, and in the future realigning buildings where traffic is at the rear of the business.

Public meetings on the proposals will be scheduled this summer.
